Tragedy, Survival, and Triumph

It was January 11, 1960, seven miles north of Athens, Georgia, on U.S. Highway 29, when my life would change in a negative way forever. On that dreadful Monday morning, my life would change course from what it was expected to be. That day, a new trajectory sent my life into uncharted territory.
