In February of 1878, Johnny Stevens and his family picked up and left their Iowa roots, seeking to homestead in Nebraska. When they embarked in covered wagons on their journey-a trip that would end up taking more than twenty days-they had no idea what dangers and adventures lurked ahead. Based on letters and writings from the author's great-grandfather, Tracks in the Snow captures the spirit of a boy growing up in the pioneer days on the prairie.
