Present-day Minneapolis. A tragic event following a controversial medical decision sends oncologist Dr Ana Jovanovic's life into a tailspin. She takes a sudden sabbatical during which time she meets a young Korean medical intern. Soon she finds herself facing decisions about her own quality of life and quality of death.
