Widely recognized as an intellectual giant and leading Marxist philosopher of the 20th century, Louis Althusser has left a towering legacy. This collection of Althusser's writings from the period 1945-1953 gives unique insight into the formation of his personality. Althusser was born in Algeria in 1918 and died in Paris in 1990.
