Princess Irene lives a lonely life in her castle, until she meets a woman who calls herself Irene's great-great-grandmother. After being rescued by a band of evil goblins by a miner boy named Curdie, Irene knows that she must use the magic her grandmother has bestowed upon her to save her kingdom.
