The Bride of Lammermoor

First published in 1819, Walter Scott's historical novel tells the story of the tragic love affair between Lucy Ashwood and Edgar Ravenswood, set in the Lammermuir Hills of south-east Scotland. This classic story of love amid two warring families is the inspiration for Donizetti's famous opera, Lucia di Lammermoor.
