The Battle of Raymond / the Untold Turning Point of the Civil War

The Battle of Raymond was the definitive turning point of Ulysses S. Grant's Vicksburg Campaign. While many people are aware that the Vicksburg Campaign was pivotal to outcome of the American Civil War, very few are aware of the defining moment of the Campaign itself. While some may argue that some of the larger battles involved in the Campaign were more important, none would change the direction and the tone of the Campaign more than the Battle of Raymond.
