From the introduction to Sunrise in Gihon: "This volume addresses a question about the stories in the Old Testament: do they support the notion that a patriarchal order is part of some divine plan and reflects the natural order of things, or do these stories support the idea that the patriarchy is underpinned with falsehood and the injustice of presuming male privilege over females?
