Strengthening Cross-Border Community Collaboration in the CAREC Region

This report analyzes cross-border community collaboration among Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) member countries and identifies opportunities for inclusive and sustainable socioeconomic development in border regions. CAREC member countries face common economic, social, and environmental challenges that impact citizens and communities. For communities in border regions, the impact is unique in relation to historical and cultural ties, shared resources and geographies, social support systems including family and friends, and business and livelihood activities. Collaboration among CAREC member countries can unlock the potential of cross-border and regional economic growth that is inclusive, shared, and sustainable.
