Ramas y Raices

In this inaugural anthology, CALMA-the Colorado Alliance of Latino Mentors and Authors-presents an illuminating collection of poems, short fiction, and essays, offering a compelling slice of Chicano history, one part of our contribution to literatura latina. Twenty-four contributors share evocative impressions encompassing the breadth of universal themes: romantic love; the importance of family; duty; frustration and triumph; the search for self; and the never-ending struggle for justice. We draw upon memories that refuse to remain buried and forgotten, from recuerdos dating back centuries to recollections as recent as yesterday. This is an effort of inspiration filtered through lived experience and fantasy, and brought forth through hard work and devotion.
