Paulus Hector Mair's Ars Athletica Volume I

Scholar-swordsman Paulus Hector Mair (1517-1579) commissioned a study of medieval European combat, the Treatise on the Martial Arts. This edition presents both the original German and Latin texts, as well as a modern English translation, with full-colour illustrations. Volume 1 is the Longsword, the traditional centrepiece of the German tradition.
