This beautifully illustrated picture book tells the true story of how wild whitetail deer are rescued and rehabilitated by Magnolia Fawn Rescue, in poetic form. Magnolia Fawn Rescue is a small, rural charity that takes in orphaned and injured whitetail deer fawns and rehabilitates and releases them into the wild, as well as operating a sanctuary for disabled and confiscated "pet" deer. The pictures and poem describe the real experiences of Connie Hall, whitetail fawn specialist of upstate South Carolina and founder of Magnolia Fawn Rescue.
