Trina is a full-time student while working at a hotel during the day and for a club at night. While in the midst of an abusive relationship, she meets someone who makes her realize that if she stays in it, she'll probably end up dead, Trina has kept her family at a distance, making excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't see her. Even going as far as not giving them her address so that they couldn't pop up on her. Her best friend Cheyenne is concerned and seeing how she shows up at work on a day-to-day basis makes her wonder what is going on when their not together. Jamere meets Trina in class and is immediately taken to her. He can see the pain in her eyes. The fear she holds around other people. But her is the one person who refuses to just ignore it.
