The new study presents a synchronised chronology of the Early Alchon Huns, Early Guptas, Vakatakas, Traikutakas, and Buddhist rock-cut temples (ca. 451-480 CE). It is based on new event reconstructions. It probes why some 84 rock-cut monuments of central India, Deccan, Konkan, and Gujarat were rapidly or suddenly abandoned.
