Jozelyn Hardt, a multi-talented but brokenhearted divorcee, vows she will never marry again. When she meets Sir Frank Loveland III at an art gallery on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, she assumes he won't give her a second thought once he learns of her physical and emotional deficits. But he's more than interested, and soon this kind, adventurous, mysterious man has awakened a passion in Joz that she thought was gone for good. Convinced she has found her soulmate, she marries the man of her dreams and life gets even better...until a covert agency orders Frank to the field for one last dangerous assignment. Left in the care of Frank's best friend, Buck Bigelow, Joz vows to ride out the separation with good cheer, but when Frank stops communicating with her, her fear turns to alarm when Buck-who has his own mysterious past-warns Joz that communist agents are stalking them. The two flee Montana, destination London, to learn if her true love is alive or dead.
