Nothing short of raging adventure and experimentation could stop young Alva Harris. Or older Alva Harris. Or Coast Guardsman Alva Harris. Or even Professor Alva Harris. A native of the North Carolina Coast, which he still calls home, he chronicles the wonders of these wetlands and small towns, and even a few decades fighting the seas of the Pacific in the Coast Guard and as a salmon fisherman.
