Aeschylus

Aeschylus's play Agamemnon was first produced at the City Dionysia in Athens in 458 BC, where it was the first of three plays that together constituted the Oresteia. The Oresteia won first prize in that year's competition. This new translation by Sophie Grace Chappell comes across with both strength and sensitivity, providing a new read of the text for the modern age.
