A Bishop Called Bonnie

These were the words Bishop Mildred Bernadatta Hines spoke when asked "What should we call you?" after making history as the first female Bishop elected in the AME Zion Church in 226 years. This "Youth Edition" speaks to the younger generation of the church to provide them with encouragement and a lasting legacy for the Bishop's life's work. It follows Bishop Bonnie's early years in Mt. Airy, NC, her ministry as a church pastor in NC and CA, and her rise to the highest level of the church, that of Bishop overseeing multiple Episcopal Districts in the U.S. along with the international districts of Korea and Africa.
